For my first product, I wanted to talk about Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner. This is the first toner I've used from Kiehl's and I have to say, I have no regrets that I spent the $35 associated with purchasing this toner.
Before I begin talking about the toner, I wanted to preface and talk a little bit about my skin condition. I have extremely oily skin (especially in my t-zone), large pores around my nose, hyper-pigmentation and scarring across most of my face, and acne primarily around my chin and jaw. I've been heavily reliant on foundation and makeup since I was in high school because I was always self-conscious about my skin condition.
So back to the product. First, I just want to say, it smells amazing. The product actually has a sweet, almost honey-like smell and feels amazing on the skin. It's alcohol-free so it doesn't leave your skin feeling stripped of moisture or anything. I use it day and night on my skin by squirting a little on a fresh cotton pad and wiping it gently across my entire face after I have washed and dried it.
In terms of effectiveness, this toner claims to soothe normal to oily skin types and be used to improve problem areas. I found this to be true to an extent. I feel that my face has felt more supple after using this product–but I haven't seen its effects in terms of keeping my oils at bay. My face still gets oily by the middle of the day. It's also a really good product to cleanse and take off the rest of the makeup that I may have missed with my face wash as well.
Overall, would I repurchase? Maybe. It's not my holy grail toner but I haven't found that yet. I liked this decently well and I love the smell. Maybe if you produce fewer oils on your face than I do, this will be a product you can try.
