I've been a long-time fan of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer but dishing out $52 +tax every 3 months or so was really hurting my bank account so when I found this Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer on Sephora's website a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't help but buy it. At $44, I feel better about myself for saving that extra $8. (That's a whole Chipotle meal in California!)
It's been 2 weeks that I've used it and let me just say, it's not the perfect dupe for Hourglass's primer, but it's pretty good. The consistency is more gel-like rather than the satiny feeling from Hourglass's one. It has coconut oils in this primer so it's a little bit more oily as well, but that doesn't seem to be as big of an issue for me as I had originally imagined with my extra oily skin.
So far, I haven't broken out from this product which is a great sign! I enjoy the smell of the product though I can see why it won't be everyone's cup of tea. It's got decent lasting power and my foundation doesn't look too bad by the end of the day.
But like I said, my favorite part of this product, aside from the beautiful Marc Jacobs packaging, is the fact that its a whole 8 dollars cheaper than Hourglass's primer.
